The Solid Waste Management is one of the biggest issue facing Meerut. It is estimated that Meerut generates over 800 tonnes of solid waste per day, and most of it is either burnt or ends up in open landfills causing soil, water & air pollution. City has ranked at the bottom consecutively over the years in “Swachhta Sarvekshan” conducted by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India.
MCF has taken several initiatives to bring together stakeholders in a bid to transform solid waste management of city.
